Deviation Actions
Greetings, merry men and women!
Recently, we've noticed that there's been a few submissions given to us in the form of a "dummy" submission -- which is to say, a picture or some other kind of false submission with a link to the real submission somewhere within. In the past, we've accepted these kinds of submissions without question, but in all honesty, it's kind frustrating to go through a handful of submissions only to realize that we have to click one or two more external links just to get to the actual submission!
We realize there may be reasons to do this. For example, some of you may not be aware that audio files put into Flash files are acceptable. I was some time ago that deviantART stopped accepting audio files for submissions and not everyone has been in the loop since.
Some of you may also simply want the extra hits for your personal websites and the like. We're all for getting your name out there, which is part of why this group exists, but we would strongly prefer it if you submitted your music file to the group in either Flash or video format, if only so we and our userbase don't have to jump through hoops just to hear your awesome music! (Naturally, you're welcome to put a link to the music file itself in the deviation description, as well.)
And of course, some of you may not be capable of turning your audio file into a Flash movie or video movie. We do understand this as well. And that's why this journal is being made.
For those of you who want to submit your music as a Flash file but lack the technical know-how to do so, there's a temporary solution readily available in the form of Guangming Software's MP3 Stream Converter. It has a 30-day trial in which some of the features are disabled, but it should do the trick until deviantART user onetrickwolf can get his deviantART Audio Ban Bypass conversion tool back in working order. Which could take some time, apparently. However, when that finally gets back up and running, we will definitely let you know!
In the meantime, I've gone ahead and relocated all the "redirect" submissions to their own category, which is where dummy/redirect submissions will go from now on. It's the only fair solution during this period of confusion and frustration.
We've also moved music videos to their own category, due to the fact we've gotten quite a few of them!
Anyway, yhanks for reading! Have a good day!

Submit Directly to Specific Category
Hello and hello again, members!
We've decided to try a little experiment for a while. People have often asked why they can't submit their content directly to a category of their choice. Well... truth be told, it was mostly because we never looked into it. However, I finally looked into it and wouldn't you know it? The settings were right there the whole time!
So! Having found the settings that allow members to submit their content to the category of their choice instead of "Featured", I've gone ahead and enabled all of them for Members. That said, I've also disabled submissions to the Featured group to encourage people categorizing th
Rearrangement of Content II: The Contentening
Alrighty! It's been months overdue, but I finally broke down and sorted the ten pages of content we've gotten since before Christmas. Everything should be in the right place now, rather than hanging out in Featured. But if something is in the wrong spot, feel free to point it out!
Rearrangement of Content
Greetings, group-goers! Joseph here with a little bit of news.
Recently, I've re-arranged the main page for the group somewhat. The various submissions you've given us are now sorted somewhat better than they were. Bearing that in mind, we're still trying to find a configuration that works best for us. As it is, music has its own folders right now, as do pictures and written word. We may add more folders later on, or possibly not. It depends on if we need them or not, I suppose.
I'd also like to point out that much everything is sorted by no particular order in these folders due to the fact I couldn't find the "sort by name/date/etc."
Group Journal 1-19-11
After little activity since the Musical May venture, I figured I'd condense the folders into one Featured folder. Things other than music still go in the Other bin.
As for what the next group activity will be, I was thinking maybe a contest, but I'm not sure if we have gathered enough members for it yet. As of now, music on deviantart is still quite an exclusive club. That said, I am open to suggestions, in the meantime, I'll be looking for other musical talents here on dA!
Joseph's Edit: For those of you watching the group, we apologize sincerely for the sudden influx of old entries. Seems while we were moving things around, we accidental

I'd like to be able to upload some music on here as well that I wrote and performed on the theater organ.
